FEB.13 - DEAD LIVE
How could I resist a title phrase like that. Take any meaning you want ("The Dead live on, man! Long live the Dead!", or "Hear The Dead music Live"!) - just get on down to the El Rey so you can get on down to the jams. Just bear in mind, it's not really THE Dead, but what I hear is an amazing cover band that is a near perfect facsimile of the real thing -- and for that, many Deadheads are eternally Grateful. (If I had put "IMITATION DEAD LIVE" in the title, well, even I have a multiple meaning limit.)
This concert for Dead fans stars the Dark Star Orchestra. Sunday 2/13 at 7pm; don't forget to set your TiVo for the Grammys (although, if you're into the Dead, chances are you aren't that into this year's Grammys anyway -- or using a VCR). Location: the El Rey Theatre ( 5515 Wilshire Blvd, 323.936.6400). Cost: $23.50.
